Chief Behr

For as long as he can remember, Chief Behr has always had a passion for the beauty industry. Flipping through Vogue, W and Elle when he was a young blood and seeing the big flowing locks of Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer or the sleek geometric shape of Linda Evangelista, he knew that’s what he wanted to do with the rest of his life.

After finishing high school he started assisting in a high-end salon. After completing cosmetology school, Chief opened his first salon at age 23. Working his fingers to the bone for 10 years and achieving his goal of building a successful salon, Chief knew that he had to push it to the next level.

chiefbehrHe traveled to top academies all over the world to perfect and master the art of hairdressing. Chief, inspired by his own personal journey, realized that education was his new passion alongside styling. After moving back from Italy, Chief became the Artistic Director for a well known celebrity driven line. As director of education, Chief traveled globally, inspiring artists all over the world.
You may also find his work in high fashion magazines, on the runways of New York or through the celebrities that he works on. In 2006, Chief met Philip and the world was never the same. In 2011 while working on New York fashion week together they decided to take stylist education to the next level, and formed the first step towards the WolffBehr vision, hair education company LD50 Hair & Co. That first step has grown and is now WolffBehr!

Chief’s passion is to return the art to hairdressing. He believes that stylist education has become secondary to the marketing of products and meeting the sales goals. Join the MOVEMENT, and let’s take back our INDUSTRY!
