In 2012, not long after receiving my Cosmetology license, I had the amazing privilege to be a semi-finalist for RAW Artists. That’s when I knew I had made the right career choice.

I never really knew what I wanted to do. I knew that I was artistic, but I was also very athletic. I knew I loved doing my friends’ hair for dances, but never really thought of it as a career path. When I returned from my year abroad in Germany, it hit me – I wanted to do hair for the rest of my life.

Ally Stewart Nevaeh SalonI spent even more time doing hair for special events and functions while there. My artistic side took over.  When I returned, I obtained my cosmetology license from The Paul Mitchell Academy, and began working in the salon business right out of school. I had an amazing support system that helped me every step of the way. When looking for a salon that had the infrastructure and company beliefs to support its stylists with continuing education, product knowledge, motivating promotions and phenomenal clients, I chose Nevaeh.  I believe a support system, both at home and at work, is the backbone of any career. It’s necessary to always stay inspired and motivated.

My favorite part of being a stylist is hair    cutting. Understanding angles and how they affect a haircut just makes sense to me. Seeing a client leave happy and feeling beautiful is the ultimate reward.
